Army Recalls Soldiers From Lagos

source
Last Monday, Soldiers were deployed to Lagos State at the instance of President Goodluck Jonathan during the Nation-wide strike and protest over the removal of fuel subsidy. Lagosians were irked at this action as it was uncalled for and highly unnecessary. Soldiers in their full regalia were stationed at locations within the state as well as military checkpoints mounted at strategic areas. Lagos state governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola was said to have described the action as undemocratic and urged the president to withdraw the soldiers from the streets of Lagos. Vanguard is reporting that the Army has today ordered its troops to leave the state.
